Why bother with Document Scanning?

The problem with paper is that it takes up expensive floorspace,  and is time consuming to administer &  organise.  Not only that, but you need to be physically next to the storage facility in order to gain access to it.   Compare this to having 20,000 documents stored on one CD or even better,  millions of documents securely archived and hosted online so they are accessible from anywhere,  then the question becomes “Why wouldn’t you?”
